Inside Our Greenhouses: How We Prepare Paulownia Clone InVitro 112® for a Strong Start
At In Vitro S.L., every Paulownia Clone InVitro 112® plant begins its life in carefully controlled conditions designed to ensure strength, stability, and resilience. Inside our greenhouses in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona), thousands of young Paulownias undergo a crucial period of natural hardening that transforms laboratory-produced seedlings into field-ready trees.
From Laboratory to Greenhouse
All our production originates of the meristem cultivation of our mother plant. The meristems are vegetal tissues that we extract from the “llemas” from our mother plant. The procedure guarantees genetic uniformity, disease-free status, and the same fast-growing, non-invasive traits validated by the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
Once rooted, the young clones are acclimatized to ambient conditions and transferred to the greenhouse, where humidity is progressively adjusted.
Winter Hardening: Nature’s Best Training
Unlike many producers who rush their cycle, we allow our Paulownias to rest naturally during winter. This process helps the base of the roots grow thicker, creating a strong and healthy root system. The plants synchronize with seasonal rhythms so that they reach the client when they are biologically aligned with the spring planting season.
A strong root system ensures rapid uptake of water and nutrients, leading to explosive field growth once planted. This method reduces stress on the plants during transplanting and helps them settle in faster—important benefits shown in many field tests throughout the world.

Paulownia Clone InVitro 112® is non-GMO, non-invasive, and one of the most efficient trees in carbon sequestration—absorbing up to 1.3 tons of CO₂ per mature tree (source cited).
