Founder & Honorary Chairman, IN VITRO S.L.

A pioneer in plant biotechnology and micropropagation, Josep Grau has dedicated more than 40 years to the development and production of high-quality plant material. He established IN VITRO in Barcelona in 1986 and built it into a specialised biotechnology laboratory serving agricultural, forestry and international plant-production projects. He has remained closely involved in the laboratory and greenhouse, working alongside scientists and technicians on micropropagation techniques, plant genetics and production processes, with a consistent focus on innovation, quality and sustainability. As CEO he led the company's strategic development and international expansion, including the development and propagation of selected Paulownia genetics such as Clone 112®, supporting productive forestry, reforestation and sustainable land use. Following a generational transition in the leadership of IN VITRO, he now serves as Founder & Honorary Chairman, preserving the company's scientific heritage and more than four decades of accumulated know-how.
